*First Aid & Infant, Child & Adult CPR (3) ~ Sat, March 25 ~ 8 am to 12:30 pm (Yavapai Title)
This class covers general first aid and infant, child and adult CPR. This training and is recommended for all employees and is a required training for acceptance into Core Group. Attendance is limited and is on a first come, first served basis. Recommended renewal is every two years.
*DDC 4 Defensive Driving Class ~ Saturday, April 1 ~ 8 am to 1 pm (Yavapai Title)
This class teaches participants defensive driving techniques to help them become safer drivers and what actions can contribute or lead to accidents and how to avoid them; safe and unsafe driving behaviors; and how looking and planning ahead can help reduce one's chances of having an accident. This class is required for all employees that drive or may drive a company vehicle at some point, which is almost every employee. This class is a nationally recognized National Safety Council defensive driving class. Most car insurance companies offer discounts up to 20% for drivers having this class. Most insurance companies require all policyholders have the DDC4 training in order to qualify for a discount. Therefore, Fann allows employees to enroll their spouses and teenage drivers in this class, when space is available, for a nominal fee. It is best to check with your insurance company first, as requirements vary amongst companies.
Paving Work Practices Class (1) ~ Saturday, April 8 ~ 8 am to 2 pm (Yavapai Title)
This is a class on the basics of asphalt paving. You will learn how the equipment is used and how it works, compaction of AC, how to build and rake joints, working behind a paver, what a smoothness bonus is and why it is important for the whole crew and all the equipment to work together plus much, much, more. For the experienced as well as the beginner - open to all employees.
Quantities & Yield Calculations Class (1) ~ Saturday, April 22 ~ 8 am to 12 pm (Yavapai Title)
In this class you will learn the formula and methods of calculating quantities of AB, AC, concrete, and bedding as well as volumes of pipe. In addition, you will be taught how to figure the asphalt yield on paving projects. This class will require you to bring a calculator. This class is open to all employees and is a required class for the apprenticeship program.
*OSHA 10-Hour Class (4) ~ Sat, April 29 AND Sat, May 6 ~ 8 am to 2 pm (Yavapai Title)
Training in the OSHA standards and hazard recognition for the construction industry. This is a mandatory class for all Fann Contracting employees and must be taken within the first 3 months of employment. Participants receive a wallet card designating them as OSHA 10 hour trained. Note: This class is split into two 5-hour classes and you must attend BOTH classes to get your certificate.
